Dean Batie

 Dean Batie, ARA, is a Certified General Real Property Appraiser with over 40 years of appraisal experience focusing on agricultural real estate, livestock facilities and agricultural businesses in Nebraska. Dean brings an addition to his appraisal perspective from his past farm and ranch management, brokerage and crop insurance background with UFARM.

Dean was raised on a family farming and cattle operation in Dawson County, Nebraska. He still owns and manages the farmland and rangeland in conjunction with his siblings. Dean also has a passion for developing local youth to be future agricultural leaders. He coaches 4-H livestock Skillathon and judging teams that have produced numerous State champions and a national title. He also helped to create and continues to lead an advocacy program exposing youth to diverse agricultural and food enterprises throughout Nebraska. Dean was recognized as Nebraska 4-H Outstanding Adult Volunteer by the University of Nebraska Extension Service in 2022. He also received the Ag Freedom Award from the Kearney Hub Newspaper in 2018.

Dean earned his Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He was recognized for 40 years of service to the society at the 2025 Annual Conference. He has served as President of the Nebraska Chapter along with numerous offices and chairmanships.

Dean understands the unique characteristics of Nebraska farms and ranches and combines his experience and judgement with state-of-the-art appraisal technology to analyze every appraisal assignment.
