Ricky Sommers

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Business in 2015, Ricky launched his encore career and became a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser. He is recognized on Farmer Mac’s Preferred Appraiser List (PAL), as well as by numerous major agricultural lenders across the region. He has a strong interest in estate transition planning between generations. His expertise centers on animal production facilities and agricultural estate valuation.

Ricky brings more than forty years of agricultural experience, including ownership and management of a large dairy production facility in southern Minnesota and service on a regional agricultural financial lending Board of Directors. He has demonstrated lifelong dedication to supporting production agriculture and agribusiness, which continues through market-based appraisals. Committed to ongoing professional growth, Ricky obtained his Minnesota Real Estate License in 2025 to further strengthen his collaboration with the Peoples Company broker team.
